Based on the fact finding DNA/genetic researches, all Ethiopians with the Habesha look are the mixture of black and white races. Your child proves that. She looks more white than black.
Hi! I am a good friend of your sister (Ash). I enjoy reading about your girls and I think they are beautiful!
As a mother of 3 biracial (black/white) boys, I too find the first comment odd and even "so what's the point?". My oldest boy was babysat by a girl from Ethiopia. There were 4 children in her family. Two of them were the same color as Saida and her and the other sibling were the same colora as Hilina (sp?). I guess from past experience my point is that skin color is not indicative of what a child's "mix" really is. I have one boy who gets pink and burns and two boys who get super dark in the summer.
I must agree that she looks as if she just needs a little sunshine after a long hard winter. Plus, if she is half white, you totally got robbed on the hair (I kid!).
Whenever people ask me what race my children are I simply reply, "Human, well at least that's what the box said."
we live in brooklyn and are proud parents of two little pancakes from ethiopia, one cubscout, and are expecting a very quiet cricket to join our family in the fall. we like pizza and snow days. we do not like pushy people on the subway or ironing.

Interesting and strange comment. For those who want to know more about the term Habesha here is a link to cut and paste:

However, I also think that my daughter, like me, fell victim to the long new york winter without sun.
Interesting and strange comment indeed! All i know is little Hilina is gorgeous no matter what mr/mrs/it anonymous.
