things that make you go hmmmmmm.

so it turns out, when you hit 'publish post' people can read what you write on your blog. who knew? evil landlords have been reading our blog, and decided to tell current landlords about it. and now i feel like a jerk because my little pity party caused even more problems. see, we don't like it that current landlords smoke, but we LOVE them. LOVE them. as both landlords, and as friends, lifesavers, etc but i didn't say any of that in the post. i just was bitching and in doing so made it sound like we hate living here. which just isn't the case. especially considering all our light fixtures work and we don't have mice, and we have a lot of privacy, and no one yells at us, etc. it's like heaven, just a smokey heaven - :). in fact, aside from evil landlords, we love our neighborhood and all our neighbors to pieces. i don't talk much about it because i've never wanted the internet to know too much about our neighborhood lest they know where we live, etc. i didn't even know anyone around here knew we had this little website. go figure. which brings me to the next thing that happened. we went to a great party on saturday afternoon and met two lovely couples who are in the process of adopting from ethiopia. and they both remarked how they love the blog, and they knew who was who without me having to tell them. it was crazy. i guess what i am trying to say is that i just wanted our family and friends to be able to see our girls and hear funny stories about them and it's gotten a little bigger than that and i just have to think about what that means. and be more careful with what i say, because people are actually reading this and i would never want anyone to have their feelings hurt (except evil landlords, who are truly evil and let's face it, can't possibly have feelings otherwise why would they still be trying to cause problems in our life when we don't even live there anymore?). and a warning to other bloggers who probably don't need warning because they get the whole internet is public thing - "pissy hormone surge" and "publish post" should never be mixed.

Wow, that's amazing! Yeah, the whole public blog thing can be a pain, can't it?! But I love keeping up on all the fun, so don't stop! ;-)

Ouch! It stinks when real life catches up with your blog (at least some of the time) Sorry your otherwise lovely landlords smoke, that you have evil ex-landlords, and that you've become famous. Oh wait, strike the sorrow over your famousosity

Hi Ana. Being one part of one of the "lovely couples" you mentioned in your last post, (this is Deb), I just want to tell you that I suspect we'll get to know each other soon and I hope we become important to each other as our children grow up. So yes, I'm reading your blog, so there!

This is why I didn't want to have a public blog. Not that I post scandalous things, but I'm also paranoid about people knowing who we are and where we and our baby live. But we have one so that distant family can enjoy. I guess the old-fashioned attaching photos in emails is too much hassle. Now that we're committed, I'm always pleasantly surprised when I hear that other friends and acquaintances have found it, so -Viva la public blog! Your site is one of the most entertaining "family" blogs I see, so don't stop!

i have to agree with above comment. i'm not sure why strangers feel the need to post insulting comments on blogs clearly not meant for them to read. especially those anonymous people. and i have something i'd like to say to all those anonymous nasty comment leavers:

GET YOUR OWN LIFE and quit taking out your insecurities on other people who are really making it in the world by not being as selfish as you are.

and since i live in your neighborhood and know who 'evil landlords' are, they should know one thing: we all know you're evil and gossiping about past tenants to happen to be friends with them only makes you both looks so much worse.

so to YouBetterMakeItATriple: thanks for keeping it real!

Yikes.

Listen, current landlords, if you're reading this. As someone who knows all about the whole story (and not just from the blog), you guys really are awesome, as you probably know. Anna and Ben love you guys. I've met you, and I think you're great. They truly have no problem with you guys.

The evil landlords, however, still suck. Worse every day.
